According to televised “exit polls” in the presidential elections in Argentina, former president Carlos Menem will face off against Néstor Kirchner in the May 18th final election… just seven days before the next president will take office.
The Great Neoliberal Capitalist Hope, Ricardo López Murphy, fell into a tailspin, as citizen activist Elisa Carrió makes an unexpectedly strong showing…
These are the official results… Narco News projects Kirchner and Menem as the final two candidates to make it to the second and final round on May 18th.
NARCO NEWS PROJECTION, 22:57 HOURS - KIRCHNER VS. MENEM IN MAY 18TH FINAL ELECTION:
Latest official results: From 42,894 polling locations (64 percent of the vote tallied). 1° Menem 23.9%; 2° Kirchner 21.64%; 3° López Murphy 17.21%; 4° Carrió 14.07%, and, Rodríguez Saá 13.96%. (Note the coming true of our earlier predicted trend of the stronger than predicted vote for activist Elisa Carrió, who emerges as an important player in the second stage of the electoral process.)
UPDATE: 20:31, from the daily Clarín LATEST OFFICIAL COMPUTER RESULTS: From 3,844 polling locations (5.75%). 1° Menem 25.21%; 2° Kirchner 23.17%; 3° López Murphy 16,66%; 4° Rodríguez Saá 14.27%; 5° Carrió 11.19%.
UPDATE, 19:45, from the daily Clarín in Buenos Aires, Argentina: FIRST OFFICIAL COMPUTER RESULTS: From 958 polling locations (1,43%). 1° Kirchner 26,18%; 2° Menem 26,10%; 3° López Murphy 16,35%; 4° Rodríguez Saá 12,61%; 5° Carrió 9,4%.
