Where Are the Maya?

The 2010 School of Authentic Journalism took place on Mexico’s Yucatán peninsula, home to the “Riviera Maya” from Cancún to Playa del Carmen to Tulum, where many luxurious hotels and all-inclusive resorts are named for the Maya but actual indigenous workers and neighbors are unwelcome and hidden from view. Captained by filmmaker Jill Freidberg, students interviewed local Maya citizens, and shot this documentary in 10 days.
